Taylor Swift Can’t Shake Trial over “Playas Gonna Play” Lyrics

Losing her appeal, Taylor Swift now heads to trial on whether her use of the phrase “Playas Gonna Play, Haters Gonna Hate” is copyright infringement. She used the phrase in her 2014 hit song “Shake It Off”, from the album “1989”. The Plaintiffs are the authors of the 3LW song “Playas Gon’ Play”.

The ENTIRE Music Industry sues ISP Charter Communications for BitTorrent File-Sharing

The Music Industry, led by Warner Brothers, is suing Charter over DMCA Safe-Harbor allegations that Charter failed to enforce a termination policy for repeatedly infringing users. Magistrate Judge Michael Hegarty from Colorado makes his Recommendations in favor of the Labels.

Ubisoft Sues Cheaters – But IS IT COPYRIGHT?!?!1

Mizusoft allegedly makes Rainbow 6 Siege hacking/cheating software for which it charges at least $77/month. Ubisoft has sued under Copyright and other claims – but is it a violation of the DMCA’s Anti-circumvention provisions?
